Egyptian prosecutor Ibrahim Saleh ordered the transfer of Egyptian presenter Reham Saeed and seven others, including crew members of the television show she presented, to the Criminal Court over accusations of inciting the abduction of children and human trafficking.
The public prosecution’s investigation has shown that Saeed and members of the program’s crew incited the kidnapping of children to shoot an episode.
One of the defendants confessed that Saeed and the others are guilty of the accusations made against them.
Saeed was transferred to a women’s prison in El-Qanater where she will stay until her trial.
Saeed is a controversial presenter who is infamous for several lapses during her career such as insulting Syrian refugees and shaming an Egyptian sexual assault victim.
