Saudis on Snapchat remember King Abdullah one year after his death

Saudis used video sharing app Snapchat to praise their late King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz one year after his passing.

King Abdullah’s sons, Prince Miteb and Prince Turki also took the lead in prayers for their father’s soul. They appeared on Snapchat asking God for his blessings and mercy.

Prince Mitab said “In a similar day I lost the dearest beloved person in my life, God knows that he loved you more than himself and his family.”

Prince Turki said “in a similar day a man, equal to a nation has passed,  he ruled with justice. So don’t forget him in your prayers.”

A young patient at the King Abdullah Center for Dialysis posted a video showing him praying for God to have mercy on the late monarch.

In another clip, a female student praised his decade-long rule, opposite to one of the hospitals in Jeddah, and another Saudi appeared praying for him while driving next to Abdulla mosque.

After his death in January last year, King Abdullah was succeeded on the throne by his half-brother, King Salman.
