The Lebanese sports and youth minister has announced the cancelation of a basketball game following a violent clash between the players of one team and the supporters of another, The Daily Star reported Thursday.

“Tomorrow’s game will not take place. It’s forbidden,” Abdul Muttaleb al-Hinawi said on Wednesday, adding that security is more important than sports.

The clash, which occurred during Tuesday’s finals game between teams Sagesse and Riyadi, erupted minutes before the end of the game.

In a video of the incident, Sagesse supporters appear flocking to the basketball court, with one of them shoving Riyadi’s Egyptian forward Ismail Ahmad.

In reaction, Ahmad started running around the court, pushing and elbowing Sagesse fans.

The clash was reportedly sparked by a disagreement over the fair play policy, according to the website.
