Tunisian lucky loser Malek Jaziri defeats Verdasco in Paris

Spaniard Fernando Verdasco could not advance to the knockout stage of the Paris Masters 1000 ATP tournament after being defeated 7-6 (7-5), 1-6, 6-3 by the Tunisian Lucky Loser Malek Jaziri, who replaced the injured Rafa Nadal as a late entry.

Verdasco had beaten Frenchman Jéremy Chardy in the first round.

Jaziri, 34, is currently ranked 55 in the world, will next face defending champion Jack Sock in the quarter-finals.
