If your goal is to get maximum all-round benefits out of your workouts, add these three moves to help you feel better and achieve longer-lasting results.

Rows

Rows are a great posture-building exercise. Many of us suffer from poor posture as we spend long hours sitting at a desk. This causes the muscles at the front of our bodies to become tight and the back muscles to become weak. As rowing is a pulling motion, it strengthens the back muscles, which will help balance out the body and improve posture. This exercise can be performed using cable machines, dumbbells or resistance bands.

Bodyweight squats

Squats are by far one of the best functional exercises. They help your muscles work more efficiently by promoting mobility and balance. The squat motion gets the blood pumping throughout your body, and improves your overall health.

Squats are also great for digestive issues, as they help remove waste from the body. The muscular action of the exercise improves the flow of fluids in your body and eases the passing of waste through your bowels, so it helps keep you regular.

Wood chops

Wood-chopping movements are a compound pulling motion and functional exercise that imitates torso-twisting activities in many sports, such as swinging a bat or throwing a ball. Wood chops primarily target the muscles in your abdominals and obliques. When performed regularly, they help stimulate the connection between the upper and lower body, creating a strong core and helping prevent injury.

You can perform wood chops using a medicine ball or dumbbell, but the cable pulley machine or resistance bands are preferable as they allow constant tension throughout the exercise.
