Imad Najib Hanna, an Egyptian Coptic Christian man held a Quran recital to celebrate his sister's wedding in Qena, a city in Upper Egypt.
Thousands of Egyptians commended him on social media for showing the “power of national unity in Egypt” and reflecting an Egyptian culture of tolerance.
Henna told Al-Arabiya.net that he did not hold the Quran recital for media popularity but because he simply wanted to celebrate his sister's wedding with his Muslim friends.
"There are no divisions. We love one another. We eat together, spend good times together, celebrate together and help each other through bad times," Henna said.
