Doctors of Eman Ahmed, who was once considered the world's heaviest woman and who is now receiving treatment in the United Arab Emirates, confirmed she is able to orally ingest her own food for the first time in three months.

"We started with few spoons every day now achieving 15 spoons and expected to be twice per day soon. The other good news is that Eman is taking currently and for the last two days, half of her meal by herself," read a joint statement carried by local media issued by CMO of Burjeel Hospital Dr. Yassin Al Shaha and Dr. Nehad Halawa.

Since Eman reached Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi from Mumbai's Saifee Hospital, a team of more than 20 health care professionals has put in a treatment plan divided into three stages.

Eman suffered complications during her loss weight treatment while in India. The 36-year-old left Mumbai close to 300 kg lighter after undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mumbai.
