Britsh supermarket Tesco has responded to the ongoing controversey surrounding its newly released Christmas advert which featured a Muslim family celebrating Christmas Day.

Some non-Muslim social users seemed to be offended by the cohesive image of the advert and expressed rather racist opinions.

In response to the hateful comments, Tesco said: “Everyone is welcome at Tesco this Christmas and we’re proud to celebrate the many ways our customers come together over the festive season.” The advert was "intended to show how people come together,” they added.

However, overpowering the scarce negative comments, several members of the social media community - from all religions - supported the advertisement which aimed to highlight the joyful spirit of Christmas. Others shared stories about their Muslim neighbours celebrating with them and gifting them during the holidays.
