As the first Iraqi elections come into play since the country’s defeat over ISIS, many social media users vary in the ways in which they choose to express their political views.

In one interesting display of opinion, a series of puppets taking on the form of Iraqi political figures, including former PM Nouri al-Maliki and Osama al-Nujaifi, put up a musical display singing last summer’s hit Latin single Despacito.

The puppets, using banter-filled reflections of the political scene in Iraq, ask the people to vote for them.

The balloting is expected to be a referendum on Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi’s tenure and his pledge to be more inclusive of Iraq’s Sunni minority.
