VIDEO: Heavy floods in Tunisia wash away trees, cars and even Eid sheep

Social media activists have been sharing videos on various platform of the floods caused by heavy rainfall in recent days that have hit parts of Tunisia.

The floods have washed mud and trees as well as several sheep who were being prepared to be slaughtered for the Eid al-Adha holiday on Tuesday.

The four-day holiday of Eid al-Adha - the Feast of Sacrifice – begins on Tuesday and marks the end of Hajj, an annual pilgrimage undertaken this year by more than 2.3 million Muslims this year in Saudi Arabia.

The holiday commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to obey God’s command to sacrifice his son Ismael.

Muslims worldwide traditionally slaughter sheep or cattle in commemoration. The meat is distributed among the family and neighbors, as well as the poor and needy.
