We will not write history in Lebanon because we disagree over both the present and the past. We will thus continue to disagree over the future and will not establish a unified country as it is not just about the land, but its people, history, the people’s aspirations and their vision for the nation. Sharp divisions don’t build a country. This division hasn’t come from nowhere as it is the production of some parties who aim to alter the country’s image and who seek to establish a new Lebanon that maintains the façade of democracy but is void from within.
