As many as 14.2 million girls under the age of 18 will be married every year over the next decade, which translates into 39,000 girls married each day. According to the United Nations Population Fund, one in three girls living in low-to-middle income countries marry before they turn 18, with a further third getting married even before they are 15 years old.
