The guest of this week’s episode of Point of Order is Sheikh Khamis al-Khanjar, head of the “Arab project in Iraq”. He said that his project aims to address the Iranian project in Iraq and noted that the Turkish presence in “Ba'shiqah” in northern Iraq to train Iraqis to fight against ISIS cannot be compared to the Iranian interference in all aspects of the Iraqi state. He also said that Iraq's Sunnis are now between the hammer of ISIS and the anvil of the sectarian militias. He added that “we have in our region those who are happy to have ISIS but who do not support this organization,” and he attributed this stance to the persecution and marginalization of the Sunnis since the occupation in 2003. Sheikh Khanjar said that the Arab Shiites in Iraq are being persecuted too and that the Iranian project is based on the establishment of dozens of militias that raided the sovereignty of the country. He expressed the condemnation of the Sunni people regarding the massacre of “Spyker” base against the people of the south.
