Former Bush aide: US anti-ISIS coalition has ‘no sense of urgency’

One of former US President George W. Bush’s former aides told Al Arabiya this week that the US-led anti-ISIS coalition has “no sense of immediacy or urgency” to destroy the group.

While the US has the capacity to assemble a larger international force to fight ISIS, the current coalition is not up to the task, said Stephen Hadley, a former national security advisor during the Bush administration.

“What the US can do is to act as a catalyst in the region to put together a broad coalition to fight and defeat ISIS,” Hadley told Al Arabiya News Channel.

“In many ways the makings of that coalition are present, but I don’t think it has been endowed with enough resources or enough energy to do the job,” he added.
