Long time ago in Oman, the people invented watering systems to irrigate fields and supply water to desert villages and towns. The “Aflaj” is still the main source of watering in Oman as it helps in saving rainwater and offers a solution for water shortage. How were the Omanis able to dig irrigation water channels through solid rocks? How did they find solutions to the obstacles, be it the possibility of landslides through high heat and high humidity or the danger arousing from snakes, scorpions and poisonous insects? The production team visited the “Aflaj” and examined how these irrigation systems work.
