Former United States Secretary Madeleine Albright has said she is prepared to register as a Muslim amid plans for US President Trump to monitor those who practice the religion.

“I was raised Catholic, became Episcopalian & found out later my family was Jewish. I stand ready to register as Muslim in solidarity,” she tweeted on Thursday.

Filmmaker and liberal activist Michael Moore has also lent his support to Muslim-Americans, creating a website titled “We are all Muslim” and encouraging people to sign the petition.

“You’re not so tough, Donny, and I’m glad I got to see the real you up close and personal all those years ago. We are all Muslim. Deal with it,” Moore wrote to Trump on the website.
