What is Trump Junior doing in Dubai?

Published: Updated:

The son of US President Donald Trump, Donald Jr., visited Dubai this week where he discussed “new ideas” in the business sector and delivered a speech at a university graduation ceremony, three months after opening with his brother a golf club in the emirate.

“Trump International Golf Club Dubai”, which is managed by the Trump Group, is the first public real estate project of the financial empire since Trump became the president in January.

“I am delighted to invite my dear friend and business partner Donald Trump Jr. for lunch” UAE businessman Hussein Sejwani, chairman of Damac Real Estate Group, wrote on his Instagram account.

“Discussing new ideas and areas of innovation always makes our meetings interesting”, Sejwani said.

The US president is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia on Saturday and Sunday, on his first overseas visit since entering the White House.

In addition to his meeting with Sejwani, Donald Jr. gave a speech at a graduation ceremony at the American University in Dubai.

“When I think of what my father did in the last election, and at the risk he took, I feel much more impressed by the attempt than I did when he won the presidency itself ,” Donald Jr. said in the speech which was posted on the university’s Facebook page.
