Residents in Qatar have rushed to supermarkets across the country to stock up on food and water after Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain announced that they would close all land, air and sea borders with the state within 24 hours, Doha news reported.
Customers at groceries can be seen piling food and water into their trollies, with food chillers and shelves emptied out completely.
The severing of diplomatic ties comes as Saudi Arabia accused Qatar of supporting and harboring extremist groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood, ISIS and al-Qaeda by means including incitement through its media channels.
