Hamad bin Jassim: Countries should look at Qatar as their small brother

Qatar’s former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim Al-Thani called on brotherly countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain, to view Qatar as “their smaller brother and a small country”.

Hamand bin Jassim’s comments came during his recent interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria as a Gulf and Arab crisis with his country deepens after several countries severed relations with Doha over its support of terrorism.

His recent appearance on CNN came after a pre-recorded hour-long interview on Al Jazeera Media Netwrok was scrapped from airing at the last minute a few days ago.

Hamad bin Jassim also the regional media coverage of the boycott on Qatar came in a way that Doha did not expect.

“Were’ not used to this kind of insult which I think it will leave a scar,” the former Qatari leader said.

His comments on the media came after several outlets revealed deep Qatari involvement in conspiring against its neighbors like Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

Bin Jassim also gave a message to US President Donald Trump asking him “to look into the issue, both strategically and in a fair and manner”.
