Syrian boy who screamed ‘daddy pick me up!’ after losing legs performs Hajj

Published: Updated:

Abdel Baset al-Satouf, the Syrian child whose video pleading for help and calling on his dad to pick him up after he lost both legs in a raid in Syria’s Idlib went viral earlier this year, is now visiting Saudi Arabia to perform hajj.

Satouf, who lost his mother and sister, is visiting from Turkey.

Saudi authorities provided several facilitations to host Satouf and help him perform hajj at this young age.

A pilgrim identified as Mahmoud Barakat has decided to host Satouf at his own expense after learning what he’s been through.
