Egyptian journalist tells Al Arabiya how she became a sexual harassment victim
Egyptian journalist May al-Shami narrated to Al Arabiya news channel how a taxi driver molested her, insulted her and tried to beat her up in a neighborhood in Cairo.
Shami said she filed a lawsuit against him and refused all reconciliation attempts as she insisted to fight till the end until he’s held accountable and punished.
“His parents, including his mother, contacted me a lot to drop the lawsuit but I didn’t,” she said, adding that he was sentenced to two years in prison and he was released after serving time.
