Qimam, a fellowship program that aims to identify and empower distinguished university students across Saudi Arabia in order to enable them to reach their full potential, is opening up applications for its upcoming class.
The program provides its fellows with mentorship opportunities and leadership training from top public and private sector leaders in the Kingdom. It awards its distinctive fellows and offers to facilitate their career opportunities upon the program’s completion.
In its inaugural year in 2018, more than 13,000 university students applied, of which 50 were selected to join the first class of Qimam Fellows.
“What I love the most about Qimam is that it enables me to connect, learn, and truly grow as a person. Building relationships with the fellows and building a great network of mentors and professionals across the Kingdom opened up a lot of doors for me and for the [other] fellows as well,” said Aljohara al-Banyan, a Prince Sultan University student and Qimam fellow from last year’s class.
“I believe Qimam would be just a starting point of building a generation of leaders that will transform our tomorrow,” she added.
Qimam was founded by McKinsey & Company and Dr. Annas Abedin, a McKinsey alumnus and entrepreneur.
Al Arabiya is among 25 leading national and international companies across different sectors that have partnered up with the Qimam Fellowship.
“In the self-leadership sessions, we really got to learn the hidden gems that motivate everyone’s decisions and fuels their passions and endeavors. For me, this was especially important because I really got to feel like I was part of an exquisite amalgamation of people who lead the country and the future of the Middle East,” said UCLA student Kamel Gazzaz, a Qimam fellow from the class of 2018.
According to their website, the Qimam Fellowship was “created based on the belief that Saudi Arabia is rich with extraordinary talent and that developing such talent is one of the best investments for a brighter future.”
All eligible Bachelor and Master students studying in Saudi Arabia, or Saudi Bachelor and Master students studying at a university abroad, are invited to apply to the fellowship on www.qimam.com before the application deadline on February 28, 2019.
