Hamed al-Bousta was born in 1971 and has been involved in Bahrain’s art scene for many years.

He has been a member of the Bahrain Arts Society since 1993 and frequently participates in Art forums at the international level. In 1999 he participated in the 12th Norwegian International Print Triennial. In the same year, he participated in the International Cairo Biennial.

Al-Bousta’s creations are painted in the abstract style, a modern approach that is facilitated by his use of acrylic paints and other mixed media.

‘My colors are intertwined’, says al-Bousta, ‘a quick glance at them makes you feel they are inspired by autumn, and at other times you find them hot and sharp’.

Autumn is a recurring theme in al-Bousta’s work, with his art being described as the falling leaves of autumn in the evening breeze.

His works have a vivid, kinetic energy to them. Colors seem to race around the painting, affording the viewer a special experience.

This artist prefers to work in a studio located in his home. He enjoys the proximity to his work, a closeness that only comes when artists live, paint and sleep in the same area according to al-Bosta.

Al-Bousta inherited a distinguished art legacy from his father. However he has managed to expertly carve his own niche in the world of art.
