JLo gets paid 250000 to open Dubai car showroom

American celebrity Jennifer Lopez, popularly known as J.Lo, was paid nearly one million dirhams ($250,000) to attend the inauguration of world’s largest new Audi car showroom in Dubai, Arabian Business online on Nov.22 reported.

The singer, actress and former American Idol judge arrived in Dubai on Nov. 21 and attended the official opening of Al-Nabooda Automobiles’ new Audi showroom.

The singer is in Dubai to play a concert at Dubai’s Media City as part of her sell-out ‘Dance Again’ world tour. While Audi Middle East is one of the official sponsors of the gig, the singer was rumored to have been paid US$250,000 (AED918,275) to be the surprise special guest at the showroom launch, according to a report by Arabian Business’s sister website AhlanLive.

“It’s my first time here and I am so excited. I have had a lovely day out there today, I feel the weather is really good right now, you guys are very lucky,” Lopez told a gathering of fans and clients at the Audi showroom on on Nov.21.

In a statement sent to Arabian Business online, Audi Middle East would only confirm that it was sponsoring Lopez’s performance in Dubai and had arranged the showroom appearance, but declined to confirm how much Lopez was paid to attend the opening.

Lopez is reported to be staying on Palm Jumeirah and will remain in the emirate until Nov.23.

The new 118 million dirham facility on Sheikh Zayed Road is reportedly the largest Audi showroom of its kind in the world with 57 vehicles of the brand on display. The outlet is set to open its door on Dec.3.
