Sometimes you meet someone and you know, no matter what, they are destined for great things. There are certain characteristics they demonstrate which make you believe in them instantly.

What if you were one of those people - you just didn’t know it yet? Here are 9 signs you’re going to be extraordinarily successful:

1) You want to create change

The most successful people in the world have focused on change and improvement. What they can do to improve the lives and experiences of the people in this world. What difference they can make. Whether it’s big or small. If you naturally look for ways you can improve and change the world around you, success could be in your future.

2) You celebrate the success of others

You don’t have the time and energy to waste on being jealous of others. You know it’s futile and it will only negatively impact your ability to focus on your own goals. Finding happiness in other people’s success allows you to consistently be in a positive state. Giving you more energy and motivation to stay on track with your own plans.

3) You’re curious

If you relentlessly want to know and experience more – there’s a chance you’re destined for success. Your curious nature allows you to see opportunities and ideas that would otherwise remain hidden. It also leads you to a greater understanding and awareness of what could be changed and improved in the world.

4) You take action

There are a lot of people who talk the talk but don’t walk the walk. You, however, definitely ‘walk the walk’. When you’ve made your mind up about something, you’re on a mission. No matter what, you’ll achieve whatever it is you’ve set out to do. You often find yourself naturally taking the role of ‘leader’ in any group exercises, giving direction to those around you. Some might see you as stubborn and bossy, while you might get frustrated with those who don’t move as quickly as you do.

5) You’re open minded

Like most other successful people, you keep your mind (and your eyes) open. You know you don’t know everything. And the only way you are going to get better is to seize every opportunity you can to learn something new. This means having an open mind at all times. This includes being open to adjusting your current way of thinking and challenging your existing mindset and beliefs.

6) You’re optimistic

You see a glass half full rather than half empty. You’re more likely to see the positive in any situation rather than the negative. And ‘problems’ you see as exciting challenges.

7) You like setting goals

You know you’re most motivated when you’re working towards something. As a result, you set yourself goals and targets. That might be as simple as a to do list of everything you want to achieve in a day. Or a list of things you want to accomplish 1, 3 or 5 years from now.

8) You let go easily

Being able to let go of regret, resentment and mistakes comes easy to you. You view ‘failure’ as an opportunity to learn and become better. You don’t beat yourself up for being stupid or not being good enough. You’re able to brush it off and get back up, ready to take on the next challenge with your new-found wisdom.

9) You reject instant gratification

Most people lose sight of their goals because they find it too hard to resist the temptation of instant gratification. You, however, can wait for the long-term gain, knowing the sense of satisfaction of working hard and reaching your goal will outweigh any instant gratification ten-fold.
