The festival, with the slogan “Natural Difference,” consisted of 13 dance troops both local and international. They performed with some dancers who were handicapped in an effort to create awareness.
Dancing to Sufi rhythms, the ‘Thabit Brothers’ dance troop from Tunisia pulled three themes together Death, the Brain and Craziness, one of the key characters in the dance recital was a one-legged performer.
“Through this festival we can say that handicapped people can dance,” Khaled Alyan, head of the festival, told Al Arabiya.
The British dance troop Condoco, prior to its performance on stage, worked with handicapped Palestinians at a dance workshop, which was aimed at improving their capabilities.
This is the eight time this festival has taken place in Ramallah.
