Starring Hollywood actor Tom Hanks, “A Hologram for the Kings” by German director Tom Tyker is set to feature scenes shot in Egypt’s Hurghada Red Sea resort.
Hanks is expected to shoot several scenes in Egypt’s Hurghada, said Egypt’s tourism ministry on Wednesday.
According to the ministry statements carried by news website Ahram Online, some scenes will include underwater shots of the coral reefs that are popular with scuba divers.
The film is based on a 2013 novel by Dave Eggers that tells a story of a failed American salesman who travels to Saudi Arabia in attempt to find his fortune and to earn his daughters’ education funds.
A Hologram for the King is set to premiere in November 2015.
