Cairo International Film Festival dedicates 39th edition to Shadia

Cairo International Film Festival wished the great Egyptian singer and actress Shadia a fast recovery for her recent health condition.

As a sign of support to the beloved actress, CIFF decided to dedicate its 39th edition which is set to kick off on November 21st - 30th, 2017, to Shadia for her unique and iconic lifetime work.

Shadia has been considered as an artistic and national treasure; she spent effort, love, and dedication to her acting career, fans, and Egypt.

The administration of CIFF is also granting in the name of the late iconic actress Faten Hamama two awards: Faten Hamama Honorary & Faten Hamama Excellence.

CIFF confirmed that British actress and model Elizabeth Hurley is joining the festival this year as a guest of honor on opening night.

Cairo International Film Festival administration also announced that the movie “The Mountain between Us” will be screened during the opening ceremony of the 39th edition of the Festival, set to open tonight on November 21st.

53 countries participating with 175 films in the 39th edition of Cairo International Film Festival this year.

The film is directed by Palestinian Hany Abu-Assad, and featuring the British actors Kate Winslet and Idris Elba.

DMC TV Channels, and Cairo International Film Festival administration signed a cooperative and partnership protocol to officially sponsor Cairo International Film Festival for the upcoming 3 years.
