Jeddah – Eight athletes were declared the winners of this week’s WWE tryout in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and will advance to more intensive training under WWE’s coaching team in the coming days.
At least one of the prospects has been confirmed to earn the chance to participate in this upcoming Friday’s Greatest Royal Rumble event set to be held in Jeddah.
The winners were revealed on Saturday at the King Abdullah Sports City Sports Hall, with WWE Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events & Creative Paul “Triple H” Levesque in attendance.
“It’s wonderful, I’ve only been here for a few hours but it’s been great. There are a lot of tremendously talented athletes here pouring their heart and soul out here to become WWE superstars,” Triple H told Al Arabiya.
Triple H on Saudi talent before Greatest Royal Rumble:
“The turnouts help us qualify for skills necessary that will allow our audience and fans enjoy our characters on stage,” Faisal Kurdi, a 5-foot-9, 180-pound MMA fighter and Muay Thai boxer, told Al Arabiya.
“All we need to do is train hard and give high quality effort to ensure we’re doing what needs to be done to get into the WWE,” he added.
Hussain Aldagal, a 6-foot-3, 215-pounder with a background in volleyball and bodybuilding told Al Arabiya that the tryouts were a new experience for him but has now become somewhat of a passion after the four days spent working with WWE professionals.
