Iconic Egyptian actress Madiha Yousri dies at 97

Egyptian veteran actress, Madiha Yousri, 97, died Tuesday at a Cairo hospital after a long struggle with a chronic illness.

She was previously hospitalized due to health concerns. She was visited by the Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismael.

Yousri was discovered by Egyptian director Mohamed Korayem in the 1940s.

She was born to a Turkish father and Sudanese mother in Dec. 3, 1921.

Yousri is a Cinematic icon whose filmography extended from the 1940s to the early 2000s.
