Gold, a Bollywood movie about India’s first gold medal victory will be the first Indian Bollywood film to be screened in Saudi Arabia’s cinemas, Indian actor Akshay Kumar posted on his Twitter account on Sunday.
The movie, which is based on the 1948 London Olympics, tells the story of India’s iconic win at the games. It was released on August 15 and stars Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor and Vineet Kumar Singh.

The first film that was shown in the kingdom’s first movie theater on April 18 was Black Panther, which ended a 35-year ban of movie theaters in the country.
In India, Gold has achieved commercial and critical success. It will become the second Indian work to be premiered in Saudi Arabia, after the play ‘Kaala’, which was shown in theater stages.
