Arianna Huffington tells Al Arabiya: Important to bring humanity into technology
Arianna Huffington, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Thrive Global, has highlighted the importance of bringing humanity into what we are doing in technology today.
In a brief conversation with Al Arabiya English on the sidelines of the World Government in Dubai, Huffington said that Thrive Global, which is her new company, is recognizing the fact that when we take care of ourselves, we become more productive and more effective.
Time to course-correct
“The delusion that we need to burnout and we need to be always on in order to succeed is just that – a delusion”, adding that the time has come to course-correct and recognize that we need to take break from our devices and get enough sleep. During the Summit, she addressed a session named the 3rd Women’s Revolution and also signed copies of her latest book Thrive.
Huffington is of the firm belief that wellbeing and business outcomes and metrics are closely linked and the more time we allow our brains to ‘clean up’ the more successful we will be in the true sense of the term – “We have to realize that technology is a fabulous tool but a terrible master.”
