Rainstorm videos in UAE flood social media
Schools in Abu Dhabi and Dubai were closed as videos included floating cars and the rain smashing into buildings
- Footage of Abu Dhabi and Dubai being lashed by heavy rains and winds flooded social media on Wednesday.
- Schools in both emirates were closed as the storm resulted in flooding which led to floating cars and the rain smashing into buildings.
- Departure flights at Dubai's two international airports have been slightly delayed due to bad weather conditions but operations are largely unaffected, the Dubai Airports operator said.
- Authorities at Abu Dhabi Airport had earlier suspended flights until further notice for safety reasons.
- Residents have been documenting the rare storm online.
