The US ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Joseph Westphal, bid farewell to the King Salman and Saudi Arabia at the end of his three years tenure

The US ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Joseph Westphal, bid farewell to the King Salman and Saudi Arabia at the end of his three years tenure, in a video message published on the embassy website.

He thanked the kingdom for: “ an amazing three years” he spent there as head of his diplomatic mission, adding: “Its been a great honor to represent my country the United States of America in Saudi Arabia.”

“I want to thank the Custodian of the Holy Mosques, his majesty King Salman, for his friendship for his gracious hospitality”, Westphal said.

“And I want to thank the people of Saudi Arabia, who have given me, my wife, and our family a tremendous experience’, he added: “it’s been an honor to serve you.”

He concluded saying: “we are not going to say ma’salama (goodbye), we are going to say “see you later Saudi Arabia, Inshallah (God willing) ”
