VIDEO: Man throws infant to stranger on dry land, as car sinks

What if you are a dad, carrying your baby, and the car you are in is caught up in deep waters. All you could do would be to wriggle out of the car window, get on to the bonnet and try to find a safe haven on land.

Such a dramatic moment was caught on video in Hunan, south-eastern China, and the brief footage shared on social media.

Apparently, the family was trying to escape from the SUV after it fell of a pier into a lake.

What happens is dramatic. There are rescuers on land shouting to the family and the man carrying the baby takes a calculated risk and throws the baby across the water into the safe pair of hands of the rescuer.

What do you do when you’re standing on a sinking car with your child, and have no way to get on land easily?

A man carrying his baby daughter was caught on video, clearly in a panic situation, throwing the infant to someone standing on the bank.

Social media users were incredulous:

Weibo user qqqShi reposted a comment from LoveHasNoBounds, explaining: “For those who don't understand Changsha dialect — the people in the video didn't understand how deep the water was, everyone was panicking, and the people on the shore kept asking the father to throw the child over because they could catch it. Trust is so valuable!”
