Saudi Arabia’s Twitter community has expressed excitement over a planned visit to the kingdom by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi next month.
Sisi accepted an invitation from Saudi Arabia’s King Salman to visit his country in April on the sidelines of the recent Arab summit in Jordan, Saudi state news agency SPA reported.
Saudi tweeps said the move is a show of good relations, and a good response to those who hailed recent tensions between the brotherly Arab states.
“Welcome to the heroic Arab leader, in the capital of Arab decision-making,” one Twitter user wrote, referring to Sisi’s expected visit to the kingdom.

Another user said “Egypt and Saudi Arabia will always remain the Arab world’s backbone...our strength lies in our unity.”
Riyadh has been a key backer of President Sisi since he came to office in 2014.
