Indian TV anchor reports breaking news of her husband’s death

Published: Updated:

Supreet Kaur, a news anchor at Chhattisgarh’s private IBC-24 channel, is being hailed for her bravery after reporting live breaking news that involved her husband’s death in a car crash.

Kaur kept her composure during Saturday morning’s live news bulletin as a correspondent reported over the phone details of a fatal car crash involving a Renault Duster at Pithara in the Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh.

The correspondent reported that three of the five people inside the SUV were killed in the crash. Although he did not identify them by name, Kaur knew enough to realize it could be her husband.

Kaur reportedly broke down only after having walked out of the studio after finishing her news bulletin, the Hindustan Times reported.
