A Saudi photographer did not imagine how popular one of his images would get when he took an eagle-eye snap in Makkah, near the Holy Kaaba.
The image, captured spontaneously by Raeid Allehyani, shows a woman standing by her husband as he prays, casting a shadow over him to protect him from the sun.
It was taken on the Day of Arafat during this year’s Hajj season, which came to an end earlier this week.

Allehyani says he was watching the scene from the upper levels of the holy site and shared it to social media. It then went viral, gaining millions of likes and positive comments.
Allehyani, who was covering this year’s Hajj as part of Saudi Arabia’s Misk Foundation, said the man in the picture contacted him and thanked him for sharing such an affectionate moment.
