Pictures of journalists running out of court as if they were in a marathon, after attending Paul Manafort’s trial, spread on social media on Wednesday.
The journalists are usually interns of major news news channels who are tasked with delivering court decisions to their outlet's correspondents stationed outside of the courts. It is become known as the "Running of the Interns" or sometimes called a race.
The reasons why they run is that recording devices have been banned inside the courtroom is because since 1946, recording devices have been banned inside the courtroom of the United States Supreme Court Building.
After the end of former director of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, Paul Manafort's trial, the interns were seen rushing out of court running to deliver the news to their organizations because cellphones were banned inside the trial hall.
Manafort was found guilty of tax fraud, bank fraud, and failure to report foreign bank accounts. He was indicted as part of special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe.
