Hitler resurfaces in Germany through satire film
'Er is wieder da' or 'Look Who's Back' is a satirical film based how the infamous leader returns to the present day and becomes a stand-up comedian
Adolf Hitler is being welcomed back to Berlin with some red carpet treatment seventy years after the end of World War II.
However, all is not what it seems, as he was welcomed back during the launch of 'Er is wieder da' or 'Look Who's Back' - a satirical film based on the German bestseller about how the infamous leader returns to the present day and becomes a stand-up comedian on a popular satire show.
The film also features Hitler confronting every day Germans, with unexpected results.
"It was frightening to see how many people turn their insides out to this character Hitler. They thought this was someone you could talk to and say whatever you think. And what they thought was sometimes quite dangerous,” lead actor Oliver Masucci told Reuters.
“What I experienced with the film was that the middle class is shifting to the right. We ought to think about that and ask why," he added.
'Look Who's Back' goes on release on October 8. International release dates are yet to be announced.
