Steve Irwin’s son, Robert, is the spitting image of late animal expert legend

Published: Updated:

It has been over ten years since animal expert legend Steve Irwin tragically passed away and fans of his television shows were given a treat when his son, Robert, made his public debut on the Jimmy Fallon late night show.

Many viewers took note of the uncanny resemblance between Robert and his father, whose charisma with both people and animals were evidenced on Sunday night.

Steve Irwin was fatally attacked by a stingray while filming a documentary off the coast of Australia ten years ago.

The teenager, who looks just like his father, showed off a host of exotic animals with many noting his handling of a snake to a stunt performed by the late Steve Irwin only 12 years earlier.

“It’s so cool to see you like this, you’re actually your dad,” host Jimmy Fallon told Robert.

Robert currently works with his mother Terri and big sister Bindi at his family’s 100-acre zoo, and said his love for animals was “in his blood”.

“I actually grew up at Australia Zoo. I think I’m the luckiest kid in the world,” he told Fallon.

“Tears in my eyes. So proud of Robert tonight. Robert, you are more and more like Dad every day. I’m forever thankful to be your sister,” sister Bindi tweeted after the show along with a side-by-side photo of Robert and Steven showing off their handling of a snake.
