Whoopi Goldberg: Saudi women are finally in the driver’s seat

Academy Award winning actor Whoopi Goldberg and co-host of American day time television show The View congratulated Saudi women after a Royal decree granting them license to drive was issued.

On Thursday’s episode Goldberg said that something amazing happened in the world, “Something that we thought would never see,” she said.

“We want to say congratulations to the women of Saudi Arabia who are finally in the driver’s seat, literally for the first time women will be able to drive. I think that is wonderful,” she told her studio audience.

Comedian and co-host Joy Behar said that the thing that struck her the moment she read the news was: “Here are a bunch of women who have never driven and still they drive better than I do”.
