Al Arabiya’s television crew assaulted by French police during Paris protests
Al Arabiya’s television crew were assaulted Sunday by French security forces during their live coverage of the yellow vest protests in the French capital.
Al Arabiya’s team in Paris were reporting live from the field, speaking to Al Arabiya’s Senior Presenter Najwa Kassem, when security forces attacking the protesters to disperse them approached them, forcefully pushing them aside.
In the live report, Al Arabiya correspondent Hussain Kneibar is heard repeatedly saying “the police is preventing us from filming.”
He also speaks in French to the policemen attacking him, saying: “Do not hit, we have the right to do our job.”
On camera, one of the policemen appears to aggressively push cameraman Ammar Quteineh while Kneiber can be heard shouting out “to the back!”.
