The Jumeirah Group is seeking new business opportunities in the Gulf region as per a 2013 World Economic Forum expansion plan, said the president of the group.
Gerald Lawless, President of the Jumeirah Hotels and Resort Group, says Dubai has a high habitation rate. This has been the leading reason propelling investors to finance large number of projects in the city.
Business investors are now looking to expand their reach.
“We were very keen to get more hotels within the Middle East and GCC area and we have very serious discussions going on at the moment in Saudi Arabia because for us, of course, Saudi Arabia is one of the prime markets for our hotels in Dubai,” Lawless told Arabiya on the sidelines at World Economic Forum in Davos.
He added that an effort is being made to help boost the international economy; the group is expanding investment opportunities in various countries.
“We are also active in other parts of Asia and for example in India we recently signed a management agreement for a large hotel complex in Mumbai,” he stated.
