“Ahly does not intend to sell the player or even lend him, especially since his coach Hossam al-Badry is sticking with him. He is remaining with us and his contract will be renewed along with other players whose contracts will expire by the end of the new season,” said Hady Khashada, a member of Ahly’s Executive Committee.
Recent reports claim that Aboutreika has been receiving offers from UAE clubs after his impressive performance at the Egyptian national team training camp in the UAE.
“All these news are not true. We did not receive any offers for signing Aboutreika on permanent basis or on loan,” Khashaba added.
The midfield striker has been one of the club’s stars since he joined the team from Giza football club Tersana in 2004.
The 33-year-old player is known to have steered the club to win seven Egyptian Premier League titles, two Egypt Cup triumphs and three African Champions league wins.
Aboutreika, although banned to play with his home-team al-Ahly for two
months due to his absence in the Egypt Super Cup game against ENPPI last month, was still allowed to play with the Egyptian national team in the UAE.
