Real Madrid’s Institutional Relations Director, Emilio Butragueno, said the academy will launch four new social sport academies in Egypt, “where over 1,200 underprivileged children will participate in rewarding social and sport activities,” Ahram Online reported him saying.
“We share a common passion for football and we will work hard to turn Egyptian youngsters’ aspirations into reality,” Butragueno, who is a former Real Madrid icon, said.
“Real Madrid, through its foundation, is committed to social integration and development; nearly 30,000 children attend our 193 social sport academies across 62 countries.”
Real Madrid already opened two sport academies last month in two UAE cities, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The Spanish football powerhouse had also launched in October a football professional training project in Gaza, devised by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
