Saudi football team al-Shabab gear up for AFC Champions League

Saudi football club al-Shabab are ready to play Tuesdays AFC Champions League match against United Arab Emirates’ team al-Jazira, according to the Saudi Gazette.

The al-Shabab team arrived in the UAE on Saturday and got off to a flying start in the Group A category gaining a 2-0 win over Qatar’s al-Jaish.

Luis Milla, the Qatari team coach, said that the match was a decisive point for his club.

The Saudi Gazette reported Michel Preud’homme, the al-Shabab coach, saying that although midfielder Fahad Hamad may not part take in the games due to an ankle injury, “we are ready to get the result we are looking for.”

Tuesday will be a busy day for Saudi teams as al-Ettifaq will take on Qatar’s Lekhwia. Wednesday will see UAE teams al-Ahli and al-Nasr play each other.
