Bahrain has come out on top at the third GCC Women’s Games in the country, with a total of 53 medals, reported Kuwait’s state news agency on Thursday.
The 10-day tournament ended on Wednesday with the official flag of the event handed in celebration to the President of the organizing committee for Women’s Sports for the GCC, Sheikha Naima al-Ahmad al-Jabar al-Sabah.
She thanked the kingdom and the people of Bahrain for their good organization and hospitality throughout the games.
Bahrain won 24 gold medals, 17 silver and 12 bronze.
Qatar came in second with nine gold medals, seven silver and seven bronze, while Oman came in third with five gold, three silver and 13 bronze medals.
