United Arab Emirates is aiming to stay on top of their Asian Cup qualifying group five when they host Uzbekistan on Friday in Abu Dhabi in the second round of qualification to the tournament in Australia

Emirate top the group with three points after a 2-1 away win against Vietnam while Uzbekistan sits joint second with Hong Kong after a goalless draw in the first round.

The Arab team recorded amazing results under their local manager, Mahdi Ali, their latest victory against Vietnam came after they won the 21st Gulf Cup held in Bahrain in January.

Injury will deprive UAE of their playmaker and best player of the last Gulf Cup, Omar Abdul Rahman, with defender Ali Al Amri also absent.

Uzbekistan on the other hand will try to come back from their home draw against Hong Kong and secure a win that will put them in a good place ahead of their match against Lebanon in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers next Tuesday.

Uzbekistan have a great chance of qualifying to Brazil, topping their group with eight points.
