UAE's Al Jazira coach admits to Al Jaish's better performance

UAE's Al Jazira coach Luis Milla said his team's chances to advance in the Asian Champions League are now weakened following their latest defeat by Qatar's Al Jaish late on Tuesday.

“It is really annoying that we lost the second match in the competition and this defeat will affect our chances of advancing to the knockout stage,” Milla told the UAE-based Gulf News.

The former Spain Olympic team coach said the Qatari team deserved to win for their good performance and concentration, the newspaper reported.

“Al Jaish deserved to win tonight as they put on a good performance and they are concentrating on this competition. We still have a chance but we must show our best in the last three matches and hopefully we can get good results.”

Following their 3-1 loss against Al Jaish, Al Jazira lies at the bottom of Group A with one point from three matches.

The team has three more matches to play in the Asian champions to make up of their losses, the newspaper said.
